Overview

This 5-day class is designed to cover all the information developers should know when coding in SQL Server. It could be used (as has been) as a class geared toward obtaining the SQL Server Developer Certification, although it goes beyond the knowledge required for that certification. The class focuses on, but is not limited to, SQL Server 2008.

Event details:

Class will run from 8:30am-5:45pm Monday through Thursday and 8:30am-5:00pm on Friday.

7:45am Coffee/tea
8:30am Class begins

9:45am 15-minute break
11:15am 15 minute break

12:30pm Lunch break
1.30pm Class resumes

2:45pm 15-minute break with dessert
4:15pm 15-minute break

5:45pm Class ends (5:00pm on Friday)

Evening events:

Monday evening: “Meet-n-Greet” in the bar. We’ll open a tab and pick up the first round so we can get to know each other better and wind down from day 1.
Tuesday evening: Guest presenter (tbd) will present from 6:30pm-9:00pm
Wednesday evening: Guest presenter (tbd) will present from 6:30pm-9:00pm
Thursday evening: Guest presenter (tbd) will present from 6:30pm-9:00pm

You will receive printed materials for all of the lecture content + demo scripts and a hands-on lab DVD that you can use to work through self-paced exercises covering much of what we talk about. Additionally, after the event ends, we will provide all classroom demo content on our website as a zip of demo scripts.

Class size is limited to 30 students.

The Immersion Event will be held in the Hilton Suites Chicago/Oak Brook.
This hotel is 20 minutes from O'Hare airport and is near a large mall with many amenities. We've held three Immersion Events here in 2011.
The hotel has a special rate of $104/night Sunday through Friday (departing Saturday), for a two-room suite! This rate includes:

Onsite parking
Wireless internet access for the entire stay
Full breakfast on Saturday/Sunday if staying overnight for the following nights:

Saturday, April 14 (breakfast on Sunday included)
Friday, April 20 (breakfast on Saturday included)
Saturday, April 21 (breakfast on Sunday included)
Friday, April 27 (breakfast on Saturday included)

Full American Breakfast is included with class during the week

Pricing details:

Full price for the Immersion Event is US$3,495.
Early-bird rate is US$2,995 for registrations received before midnight (PST) Friday, 30th March, 2012.

Cancellation policy:

Cancellations prior to 23rd February, 2012 (PST): fully-refunded minus $100 administration fee and any applicable credit-card processing charges.
Cancellations from 23rd February, 2012 to 22nd March, 2012 inclusive (PST): 50% refund of registration price.
Cancellations from 23rd March, 2012 to 22nd April, 2012 inclusive (PST): no refund.
