| Dual Database Monitor |
|
The Dual Database Monitor (DDM) is a tool that was originally created to aid in visualizing operations of a Database Mirroring partnership.
It is also used in various other ways in the Hands-On Labs that SQLskills.com produces – for example, to monitor Peer-to-Peer Replication activity.
The DDM supports SQL Server 2005 and 2008, but will recognize SQL Server 2000 too. It is not supported for use on SQL Server 2000 and functionality may be limited.
There have been many requests for access to a configurable version of the tool and so I have taken the time to put this kit together. The kit contains:
- The executable
- 9 page instruction document in PDF form
- SQL scripts to create the necessary database status stored procedure in master, an example stored procedure used for execution, and an example database and table to test the DDM
- An example initialization script

There are two versions of the kit available:
-
For one person to use with a single pair of machines/instances – DDM10_Single.zip
-
Cost: US$9.99 (plus sales tax if located in Washington State)
-
For unlimited use within a single company – DDM10_Multiple.zip
-
Cost: US$99.99 (plus sales tax if located in Washington State)
Once the kit is purchased, all subsequent bug fixes and new versions are completely free. This also includes email support.
To order, send email to DDM@sqlskills.com by clicking Single-User DDM or Unlimited DDM.
We will send you a PayPal invoice to pay (which you don't need a PayPal account for, just a credit card so you pay securely through PayPal) and then we'll send you the Zip file on confirmation of payment.
If you want to upgrade from the single-user version to the unlimited version, click Upgrade DDM
