Immerse Yourself In SQL Server
SQLskills is pleased to announce our new Immersion Event schedule

SQLskills is pleased to announce an updated schedule of Immersion Events for 2006. The goal of an Immersion Event is to provide you with many ways of learning. In the course of an intense and focused week, we’ll ensure that nothing gets in your way. Our goal is to challenge you and offer you many different possible opportunities to explore and reinforce what you are learning – these are not limited solely to the classroom. We strive to enhance your learning experience through networking and mixed training formats:

  • Classroom lectures with printed course materials
  • Detailed and realistic demos
  • Hands-on structured exercises
  • Free-form individual troubleshooting
  • Group problem solving scenarios.
No Ordinary Training Here – Our events are intense, technical and focused. Plan on finally having the time to focus on the areas of SQL Server that you have always wanted to explore, and bringing back detailed knowledge to enhance your company’s deployment – make it more reliable, more secure, more scalable and easier to support. Our SQL Server content is always current and relevant for the latest version, right to the latest Service Pack. In addition to great content, our events often include guest speakers/presenters and always include special networking sessions such as group dinners and opening night receptions so you can compare best practices with other database professionals.

Bring Your Own Problem – Each class is different, with integrated and related content to take you deep into the focus area. Structured learning takes place during official class time which runs from 8:30am to 4:30pm each day – then we begin BYOP. This stands for Bring Your Own Problem. These unstructured sessions are designed for you to apply what you’ve learned to your own systems and challenges. We strongly urge you to bring your laptops and external drives – loaded with database backups, sample applications/workloads and Profiler Traces – real world data for real world learning. The BYOP sessions begin with group discussions – focusing on similar systems and/or challenges and then the groups will move into deep troubleshooting discussion groups. Your instructors will guide your groups with suggestions and ideas and each group will come up with solutions and why they chose them. We will all help to overcome your everyday challenges and create discussions around the real issues you are facing.

Classroom Format – Our classrooms DO include classroom hands-on lab machines, use these with your BYOP data and combine this with Open Laptop Lab Time to put your new knowledge and skills to an immediate test – no going back to your company to discover that you really didn’t understand the session as well as you first thought. And – if you don’t have problems that you can bring with you, don’t worry. We do! We’ll make sure there’s always a challenge to tackle.

Don't Take Our Word For It – Check out some of the comments from the attendees of our last Immersion Event:

  • See the course analysis from the second Immersion event in Reykjavik, Iceland here.
Limited Seating – Sign Up Today – All events are limited in attendance to ensure high quality interaction with the Instructors in a comfortable learning environment – small is beautiful when it comes to learning!

We look forward to seeing you there!
