Well, the Evengelism Rythyms Airlift has ended and it was a great week. Technology aside, this was one of the best social gatherings in quite awhile... Microsoft Developer Evangelists and non-Microsoft-employed Microsoft Regional Directors (http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/community/rd/default.aspx) from all around the world gathered with local dev team members and industry experts to share insight into what's coming down the road for Whidbey, Yukon, Indigo, etc. This blog is all about the fun. Technology later ;).

Yes, this is the last one and it's fairly large... It all started with the webcast but this blog entry took on a life of it's own. On July 19, Kimberly L. Tripp delivered a 1.5 hour webcast on SQL Server 2000 titled: Index Defragmentation Best Practices and this entry started from one question related to delete performance. This general topic leads to not only performance but even a few testing best practices as well as partitioning.

Yes, Part III and there's more to come... On July 19, Kimberly L. Tripp delivered a 1.5 hour webcast on SQL Server 2000 titled: Index Defragmentation Best Practices. The webcast was well received and generated a TON of questions (again!). Kimberly has compiled a series of blog entries which cover the different areas of questions: Related Resources, General, Clustering Key Choice, Index Usage, Index Fragmentation and a couple more much more in depth entries to come. I've added a few more in the series of Fragmentation as I've received more questions on this subject and I'm still researching a couple. This one as well as the next couple have some great associated scripts and I think you'll enjoy their uses even outside of index rebuilds/defrags. And - as I'm still catching up - well, there's still more to come... Stay tuned!

Well, I've been a bit silent for the past couple of weeks... Thought I'd at least say hi and catch up on a few things.
