Many of you have probably already downloaded the refreshed Books Online but if not – you should! LOTS AND LOTS of updates/good stuff in there.
Check it out: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2005/downloads/books.mspx
That should keep you busy for a bit! ;-)
Happy New Year!

I downloaded the Dec update to BOL for SQL 2005 a couple days after Microsoft made it available and was blissfully ignorant of the fact that I hadn’t actually downloaded the update but the original (and so didn’t have any of the new content – oops); it wasn’t my fault, honestly – I was one of the minority affected by a download caching stuff up (see Brian Moran’s short note on the subject: http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/ArticleID/49192/49192.html). Anyway, I grabbed it again, installed it and am happily meandering down the myriad neural pathways contained therein.
I’m constantly amazed by the collective MSSQL knowledge encompassed in Books Online – every time I open it (and that’s every day) I learn something new (or at least refresh my memory on something that had long since been "paged out to disk")!
Cheers,
Mike.
Hey there Mike – Glad you found Brian’s article. Yes, a few people were affected by this! And – as far as the BOL being amazing and full of content…yes, I completely agree. I think the BOL get overlooked quite often and NOT for good reason. Of course, nothing’s perfect – everything ships with bugs…. but, it really should be the first place for someone to look and dig to try to start unraveling a problem or designing/architecting a new solution.
Cheers,
