I will be in Seattle a full week, but it seems that\u2019s never enough time to see everyone.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll be posting here and on Twitter &#8211; with hopefully more pictures this year!\u00a0 If you are not attending Summit, let me know if there&#8217;s something you want to hear about, or see, and I&#8217;ll see what I can do.\u00a0 If you <em>will<\/em> be there and want to say hi or catch up, let me know! Even better, let me tell you where I <em>know<\/em> I will be to increase our chances of running into each other \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday, November 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The MVP Summit kicks off in Bellevue, and most of my day will be spent absorbing as much as I can about what\u2019s coming in SQL Server vNext.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Monday, November 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Another day of MVP Summit\u2026my eyes might be glazed over by the end of the day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, November 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>My pre-con with Jonathan kicks off at 8:30AM! If you haven\u2019t signed up for a pre-con, there is still time&#8230; Jon and I are covering everything about Extended Events we can possibly can fit into one day: <a title=\"PASS Pre-Conference: Everything You Never Wanted to Know About Extended Events\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pass.org\/summit\/2014\/Sessions\/Details.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Everything You Never Wanted to Know About Extended Events<\/a>. We finalized our slide deck last week when we were in Chicago teaching <a title=\"IEPTO2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sqlskills.com\/sql-server-training\/iepto2\/\" target=\"_blank\">IEPTO2<\/a>, and my only concern is whether we can get through all the material (maybe not?!). Whether you\u2019ve been a devout user of Trace and Profiler for years, or have never used it in your life, this session will have everything you need to embrace Extended Events and be off and running in SQL 2012 and 2014. I am *so* looking forward to this day.\u00a0 Oh, and check out the preview that Jon and I did with PASS&#8230;Jon&#8217;s answer to the first question <strong>still<\/strong> makes me laugh.<\/li>\n<li>In the evening I plan to attend the <a title=\"Summit Welcome Reception\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pass.org\/summit\/2014\/Connect\/EveningEvents.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Summit Welcome Reception<\/a> \u2013 one of the best times to see A LOT of people and at least say hello.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, November 5<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I am kicking off the day with #sqlrun, organized by the best-roomate-ever, <a title=\"Jes on Twitter\" href=\"https:\/\/www.twitter.com\/grrl_geek\" target=\"_blank\">Jes Borland<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>During <a title=\"Day 1 Keynote\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pass.org\/summit\/2014\/Sessions\/Keynotes.aspx#Day1Keynote\" target=\"_blank\">Wednesday&#8217;s keynote<\/a>, I will be sitting at the blogger\u2019s table, live-blogging the event (any guesses on what vNext news the Microsoft team will share?).<\/li>\n<li>After the keynote I plan to attend sessions throughout the day and will probably spend some time in the <a title=\"Community Zone\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pass.org\/summit\/2014\/Connect\/CommunityZone.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Community Zone<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Thursday, November 6<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I will again be at the blogger\u2019s table for <a title=\"Day 2 Keynote\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pass.org\/summit\/2014\/Sessions\/Keynotes.aspx#Day2Keynote\" target=\"_blank\">Rimma Nehme\u2019s keynote<\/a>. I am looking forward to Rimma\u2019s talk! I met her briefly before <a title=\"Summit 2013: Day 2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sqlskills.com\/blogs\/erin\/pass-summit-2013-day-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. DeWitt\u2019s keynote last year<\/a>; she helped him put together that session and then surprised him by attending and lending her support.<\/li>\n<li>I will be sitting at the blogger\u2019s table during the <a title=\"WIT Luncheon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pass.org\/summit\/2014\/Sessions\/Keynotes.aspx#WITLuncheonKeynote\" target=\"_blank\">WIT luncheon<\/a> as well, and I love the slight change in format for this year. The past few years the luncheon has had a panel discussion so several individuals have the chance to share their stories, which I find fascinating and inspiring. However, I always struggle with an \u201caction item\u201d \u2013 what can I do to make a difference? Therefore, I\u2019m extremely interested in hearing Kimberly Bryant talk about her non-profit, Black Girls CODE, and hopefully getting ideas for ways I can get more involved.<\/li>\n<li>Thursday ends with my regular session which starts at 4:45PM: <a title=\"Five Execution Patterns to Watch For\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pass.org\/summit\/2014\/Sessions\/Details.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Five Execution Plan Patterns to Watch For<\/a>. Thursday is a busy day. I think this is the first time I\u2019ve had a session land in the application development track, which is cool. If you\u2019re not sure where to start in a query plan, this is a session for you. I assume that attendees already know the basics of plans, and how to capture them, so we\u2019ll just jump right into talking about the patterns I often see. As usual, I\u2019ll have lots of demos \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Friday, November 7<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sleep in. I\u2019m kidding! I have nothing planned for Friday so I will be attending sessions, meeting people, and catching up with anyone I haven\u2019t seen yet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Saturday, November 8<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Flying home\u2026for once I don\u2019t have a flight at o-dark-hundred <strong>and<\/strong> I get home in time to put my kids to bed before I unpack and tell my husband all about the week. Ok\u2026let\u2019s be honest, I\u2019ll probably fall asleep with the kids as I\u2019ll be so exhausted.
