The article covers:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">An overview of troubleshooting in SQL Server, along with links to a bunch of tools like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.codeplex.com\/Wikipage?ProjectName=sqldmvstats\">DMVStats<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/b\/psssql\/archive\/2007\/12\/18\/rml-utilities-for-microsoft-sql-server-released.aspx\">RML<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">An overview of extended events, with descriptions of all the parts of the feature and how to investigate them with the new DMVs<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Performance considerations of how you setup an extended events session, especially on multi-core servers<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\">An example where I build an I\/O chargeback mechanism to tie into a system controlled by the SQL Server 2008 resource governor<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">You can get to the article <a href=\"https:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/library\/2009.01.sql2008.aspx\">here<\/a>, which also has a link to a screencast of me doing a demo.
