I recently completed another update to the whitepaper, now entitled "SQL Server 2012 Security Best Practices – Operational and Administrative Tasks" to cover best usage of the security features in SQL Server 2012. And, concurrently with the launch of SQL Server 2012, it was available on the web a few days ago. Many thanks to the reviewers. Enjoy!

Bob, page 21 in the paragraph that starts with ‘In SQL Server 2012. Sentence two reads ‘If a Windows user is a memory of …’. I think the word ‘memory’ should be ‘member’.
Great paper. Gonna take a few reads to comprehend it all.
Thanks Bob! I know the 2005 version of the paper was pretty popular, so great to see this update for 2012 go live!
I still, quite frequently actually, end up referring folks to your SQL 2005 Security Best Practices White Paper on the forums. Excellent work, thank you for continuing with SQL 2012!
I was interested in reading your updated SQL 2012 Security Best Practices paper but the link did not work.
Could you provide a working link or email me the document?
Spot on with this write-up, I truly think this website needs much more attention. I’ll be back again to read more. Thanks for that info.
Just tried out the link, it appears to be working fine.
