In this survey I’d like to know what the oldest version of SQL Server is in your environment – it has to be an instance that’s being used for a production workload in some way (even just occasionally).
I’ll report on the results next week.
Thanks!

In the previous Curious Case I described an issue Jonathan had at a client with very long IAM chains, and the circumstances leading to it.

One of mine is SQL Server 2000 running a database in 6.5 compatibility mode, but I voted SQL Server 2000.
I voted for SQL Server 2005, but several of the databases on that server are running in SQL Server 2000 compatibility mode.
2005 is the NEWEST version we run and yet they still complain about performance. SMH
Where do we take these surveys? I’m just not seeing a link or anything.
The survey is embedded in the post. Shows up on Chrome and IE – older versions of browsers might not show it.
I’m runnin’ Interweb Explorer 10 on Winders 8.
Seriously though I’m on IE 10. Hmm…
I just tried Firefox 17, and there’s no survey there either.
Is it provided by a 3rd party and embedded in a iframe or something like that? Wonder if our network security hardware is blocking it.
Yup – that’s exactly how it’s set up. My guess is your security. Try at home to see if you can see it?
It worked at home. However, the bottom half of the Vote and Results buttons are cut off in IE 10.

Yup – IE has all kinds of weird problems. I moved to Chrome earlier this year because I was sick of it. I don’t ever test in IE.
