SQLskills Insider Session 6: Troubleshooting Deadlocks

Deadlocks can be a common problem in application and database design using SQL Server.  While troubleshooting deadlocking in SQL Server has gotten easier in SQL Server, it continues to be a constant source of questions online. This session will look at the most common deadlocks asked about, and how to troubleshoot them using the various methods available to DBA’s in SQL Server; including Trace Flags, SQL Trace, Event Notifications, and Extended Events. We’ll also demonstrate how to prevent deadlocks from ever becoming a problem for your end users with proper indexing, code design, and newer features in the Microsoft SqlClient for data access.
