SQLskills Immersion Events - Deep SQL Server Training!
SQLskills.com is the premier provider of SQL Server training in the world. Our classes are targeted towards mid to senior-level DBAs but because they cover some of the core/critical components
for working with and architecting SQL Server solutions, developers and architects can benefit greatly from them. A new or involuntary DBA may struggle to keep up, but will learn an enormous amount on
which to build and will start their SQL Server “life/career” off with correct information and a plethora of best practices instead of learning the hard way and having their applications fail.
In terms of our classes, there are no absolute requirements but we strongly suggest that most folks start by attending the Immersion Event on Internals and Performance as it will provide an
excellent background for all of the other classes. If you already have that knowledge/experience, it is not required.
For more information about our events, attendee feedback, and what attendees blogged about:
Our classes are all presented in hotels, where we have social events every evening, including lectures from guest speakers and more. Unlike other instructors, we hang out with you all week for a full Immersion experience!
What Training Do We Provide?
SQLskills provides a variety of classes that cover everything we think makes a well-rounded senior DBA. We aim to provide the training that will solidify your
understanding using only the best instructors - Paul S. Randal,
Kimberly L. Tripp, Jonathan Kehayias,
Joe Sack,
and Bob Beauchemin. Click on the names for bios.
We realize that being able to take time away from work to attend a multi-week training class is unrealistic for most people, so we're offering the classes individually in locations around the US and Europe. Occasionally we'll
offer the classes back-to-back, but attending them back-to-back is not a requirement. This will give you time between classes to study, as well as to spread the cost over multiple budget cycles within your company.
The four classes for DBAs are as follows - click the link for a more extensive description of the material covered:
Immersion Event on Internals & Performance

All classes are usually limited to 24-36 students (depending on location and class topic) to ensure plenty of time for questions and discussions. These classes are lecture+demo during the week, with takeaway hands-on labs for self-study. Just like
all classes that we teach, there is no time for instructor-led HOLs given the amount of material we cover.
Why Come To Us?
SQLskills.com is the premier provider of SQL Server training in the world. All our instructors spend a huge amount of time consulting with a wide range of clients so we have a huge pool
of real-world experience and examples to draw from.
SQLskills.com is uniquely placed to provide the best training:
- We're the only company that has multiple instructors from the original MCM program (Paul and Kimberly, who taught all of week 1)
- We're renowned as having the best instructors and consultants in the business
- We're the *only* company who has been teaching the MCM certification since it's very first rotation as the internal "Ranger" program at Microsoft (Paul)
You'll get the best ROI for your training budget by coming to us.
Additionally, Microsoft came to us to record 40 hours of introductory MCM training material which they have made freely available to everyone (you can access it
here). They came to us because we're the best in the industry.
Cost
The US-based 5-day classes are US$3,495 with a US$2,995 early-bird.
Prices for classes outside of the US will vary according to the cost of staging the event in the host country and will be listed on the registration page for each event.
The lowest available price for these classes will always be the early-bird price; however, there are some cases where the early-bird timeframe is unlimited:
- If you have attended an Immersion Event in the last 12 months, you are guaranteed the early-bird price when registering at any
time (you must contact us before registering if it is past the early-bird cutoff!)
- If 5 or more people from the same company attend, all are guaranteed the early-bird price when registering at any time (you must contact
us before registering!)
In other words, the deepest discount available for any single class is the early-bird price. If you'd like to discuss an on-site delivery of any of these classes, please send us email to discuss pricing and availability.
The classes run from 8.30am to 5.45pm and include breakfast, lunch, and all-day tea and coffee.

"Best training I have ever had - in any technical field. Very deep - but presented in a way that is easily understood. Thank you! I have several specific takeaways that are going to have an immediate input
on my job. Finally, great hotel and great food - this helps get the most out of training."
